How I got started

2009 Stacey Sansom Designs is owned by Stacey Sansom and was formed in July 2009.

1995 I became interested in web design in the Spring of 1995 and have been designing ever since. I have studied at the University of Texas – Austin, the University of Houston, Lone Star College – Tomball, BYU Pathway Worldwide, and Brigham Young University – Idaho. Studies have included everything from computer science, mathematics, English (creative writing and literature), database administration, graphic design, web design, business, general studies, fashion design, apparel patterning making, apparel construction, fitting, alterations, and other liberal arts.

My Experience

2003 I have been actively working in the web and graphic design industry since early 2003 when I was a founding partner of Inventive Site Strategies, Inc.

2009 When Inventive Site Strategies, Inc. was mutually dissolved in mid-2009, I broke off on my own and have not looked back. I continued to work in the web design and graphic design industries.

December 2022 I earned the Apparel Design and Construction Certificate from BYU-Idaho.

A Change of Industry

2016 Upon moving with my family – husband and 3 boys – from Tomball, Texas to Little Elm, Texas in 2016, I decided I needed a change. I decided that all web design services would be phased out and done on a case by case basis with no more than 1 new project per quarter.

Looking for another creative outlet, I decided that it was time to do something else. Branching out into the more creative arts, I began offering a wider range of graphic design services for small businesses. However, having a new clientele, I began researching with a variety of different options.

I have been sewing since I was roughly 10 years old, but my desire did not increase until about 20 years ago when I began quilting as a hobby. Trained by my mother and watching my sister for many years, I have developed a wide range of sewing skills.

Offering New Products & Services

2017 In 2017, I launched my first fabric line. A project that was several years in the making. With the help of a local Dallas company, I am able to provide my custom designed fabrics to the public – available in over 21 different fabric types at any given time. As a print on demand designer, all yardage is available in cuts exactly the size you need on the fabrics you want.

2018 In 2018, Stacey Sansom Designs began offering small run manufacturing to other small businesses needing sewn products produced for their own businesses. Due to the fact that many small run facilities will not take orders smaller than 300-500 items, I have decided to cater to that smaller demographic. I take orders as small as 5 at a time, thus giving me the opportunity to produce products for others that may not be able to afford the bulk of industry requirements. Who knew that the mom of all boys would be making dresses for little girls?

Other Things

In my spare time When I am not busy designing, I can be found spending time with my husband (since 1998) and 3 adult children (all boys). We are anxiously awaiting our first grandchild.

Volunteer Work I am an active participant in my church and community. I have filled leadership positions for the older boy’s High School Orchestra Booster Club. In addition to this, volunteer positions (past & current) include: family history consultant, quilting specialist, assistant librarian, activity planning board member, and have served in both Scouts and Cub Scouts. I am currently serving on the Cub Scout Pack Committee as the Pack Trainer, but have also served chair person overseeing the Journey to Excellence progress in addition to being a Wolf/Bear Den Leader. In Scouts, I served on the Scout Committee, overseeing the Journey to Excellence progress and advancement. In 2022, I joined as a voting board member for the Saint Arbor Community Garden.

About the boys I find joy in listening to my boys play their multiple instruments. My oldest plays the piano, cello, organ, harmonica, and is learning the violin. In addition to these, he has dabbled with include the ukulele and harpsichord. My middle child plays the piano and viola, as well as the kazoo (someone has to, right?). My youngest is learning the piano and cello.

Hobbies I am an avid reader and enjoy reading a range of genre. My favorite is 19th Century British literature, except for Dickens. I can be found reading technical manuals and similar style writing because I enjoy learning new things or increasing current skills.

In my free time you can find me in the garden, quilting, sewing, knitting, crocheting, working on digital scrapbooks, or doing other crafty and creative things.
